Lighting and set design for the Bic Runga Beautiful Collision 20th anniversary tour.

I met with Bic before the tour and talked out the aesthetic she was after for the shows. She wanted something classic in style and feel, reminiscent of 60’s and 70’s minimalist stage sets a la American Bandstand or NZ’s C’mon. I designed a set of simple circular risers in white and some beautiful cloth. Lighting was simple and bold. One concert goer described the show as 70’s lounge chic. I think we hit the brief – a wonderful series of shows with one of Aotearoa’s finest.
